What is Counselling / Psychotherapy?

The relationship between counsellor and client is built on trust and respect. We will meet weekly for 50 minutes at the same time. These sessions will continue or as long or as little time as you wish, it is up to you when counselling ends. Some people only come for a weeks; others like to come for a year or more. Others have 10 or so sessions and then take a break and return a few months later. However, it is usually useful to the process if you attend regularly regardless of your chosen length of therapy. You do not have to decide this in advance you can decide at any time when to finish.

Why choose counselling?

Sometimes, it can be difficult to talk to family or friends, who might be too emotionally involved, or just simply unable to offer the right support for you and your needs. Therefore, allowing yourself the time and space to explore your feelings with an impartial professional, can alleviate some of the pressures one might experience within personal relationships.
